The PNG SP Hunters returned today after their 24-18 win over the Redcliffe Dolphins yesterday afternoon.
Captain Israel Eliab was the first to put points on the board while Thompson Teteh followed with another try shortly.
Roger Laka having a punt with the boot managed to convert between the posts in the first half, just missing out on 2 penalties in the second half. Sebastian Pandia was also unsuccessful in converting a penalty.
Despite Wartovo Puaru limping out in the dying minutes, Management and Coaching staff mentioned that there are no injuries. The boys are bashed up and bruised from their first game and are looking forward to their first home match this Sunday.
Minister for Sports, Hon. Justin Tkatchenko, Enga Governor, Peter Ipatas, Port Moresby Governor, Powes Parkop and PNGRFL Board Chairman, Sandy Tsaka, alongside the PNG community in Brisbane vocalised the stands to support the SP Hunters.
The PNG SP Hunters will take on the Mackay Cutters at the Kalabond Stadium in Kokopo on Sunday the 9th of May.
