Sogeri National High School in Central Province launched its official school website yesterday.
The launch now places Sogeri ahead of other national high schools in the county, making it the first to do so.
The website was created within seven months.
Since becoming a National School of Excellence in 2014, the school administration has been investing in electronic learning.
The website contains links to all tertiary institutions in the country and additional information on the history and establishment of the school.
Currently, teachers and students are hooked up to the school’s WiFi network and laptops are provided to teachers on a subsidised cost.
The website was created within seven months and officially launched by Kairuku Hiri MP, Peter Isoaimo.
The website has links to tertiary institutions and additional information on the history and establishment of the school.
Principal, Kive Kirerembo, said the website is not fully complete at the moment, but the launching is a positive step in the development of the school’s IT department.
“It is an important project for the school and it will bring benefit to our students, staff and teachers,” Principal Kirerembo said.
The website is predicted to keep former staff and students informed on development in Sogeri, and act as a discussion venue on matters regarding the school.
