Snooker Launch for 2014

Port Moresby Snooker Association is looking forward to host, this year’s season despite the unavailability of the venues.

With the continuous backing from the leading insurance company, the Pacific MMI, the competition is ready to treat the players to a feast of snooker action.

The 2014 snooker season is set to bring regular teams and few new interests to participate.

The competition will start on the 24th of February.

Six teams have confirmed their participation in the A division, while 5 teams in B division and 2 teams in the C division.

The Pacific MMI Insurance Company has been very supportive for the last seven years and is still going strong.

The PMMI Managing Director, Wayne Dorgan is a regular supporter in any other sports including cricket.

Tournament Director Joey Chan extended invitations to any interested teams to register as there is limited space available.

Chan envisaged this season will be a success with teams reduced to a manageable size.

The number of teams has reduced therefore the committee will allow team numbers to increase from last year’s maximum of 10 players to 12 players this year.

Last year’s competition runner up Helen Samuel is expected to make an indent while the ‘POM Best and First’ in A grade, Arua Simoi will have to retain his title this season.
