The Small and Medium Enterprises Corporation observed a Dedication Service for the 2016 working year.
SME Corp Managing Director, Steven Maken, said the Dedication Service had some spiritual significance in determining the level of success for the agency.
The staff were reminded of the objective of the agency, which is to promote SME development in PNG.
Staff assembled at the new wing of the SME Corp Office at Gordons this morning for the 2016 Work Dedication Day.
The ceremony included a prayer of dedication and commitment. Managing Director Maken also took the staff through some of the highlights of 2015, which included the birth of the SME Corporation and appointment of a new Managing Director.
Speaking on the 2016 work plan and budget, Mr Maken said the agency looked forward to have the new SME Policy and Master Plan launched.
With the Government’s call to see the number of SME’s grow, Mr Maken said funding continues to be an issue.
Mr Maken said they also look forward to see the new SME Corp board established, inaugurated and the meetings conducted each quarter. They also hope to develop and launch the SME corporation website this year.
