QLD Rugby League back PNGRLF

The Queensland Rugby League will bacPNG to request for an expansion ofthe 2014Intrust Super Cup and to includPNG inthe competition.

This was discussed overthe weekend during a meeting withthPNG Rugby League Foundation.  

The weekend’s visit bythe Queensland Rugby League representatives was to withness how Rugby League is played inthe country.

This helpedthem to make recommendations tothe Australian Rugby League Commission andthe boards to consider including a team froPNG intheIntrust Super Cup come 2014.

After spectating weekend’s Digicel Cup Competition challenge between Enga Mioks andthe Gulf Isapeas,they’ve seen talent and experiencedthe passion Papua New Guineas have for Rugby League.

General Manager ofthe Australian Competitions Jamie O’Connor says Queensland Rugby league will make surPNG is considered.

PNG Rugby League Foundation Chief Executive Officer Bead Tassell said it has been an ongoing process about inclusion intothe 2014 competition.

The Australian Rugby League Commission is currently undergoing a national review of Rugby league in Australia including New South Wales and Queensland Competitions.

Completion ofthe review is expected bythe end of this month and recommendations will be discussed throughout June.
