Potape in the lead as counting continues in Hela

Counting continues in the Hela province has seen some changes in the running results.

While placing results for Hela Regional, Koroba Lake-Kopiago and Tari Pori remains the same with just figures changing, the Komo Magarima Open electorate made a big difference with the placing and results after count 69.

Seating member Francis Potape (PNG Party) replaces Robert Tia for the first placing with 5556 votes followed by Manasseh Marabe Makiba (Stars Alliance Party) replacing Edward Ekanda Alina (PNC) and moving him down to third placing.

The Preliminary count, running results are as follows:

For the Hela Regional seat after count 108, Andy Kapa Kenamu (Independent) is leading with 17,837 votes, followed closely by Anderson Pawa Agiru (People’s United Assemby) with 15,899, and Iki Ricks Mamu (THE Party) with 10,258 votes.

In Komo Magarima Open electorate after count 69, Francis Potape (PNG Party) replaces Robert Tia for the first placing with 5556 votes followed by Manasseh Marabe Makiba (Stars Alliance Party) replacing Edward Ekanda Alina (PNC) with 4972 votes, and now in third place with 4555 votes is Edward Ekanda Alina (PNC).

For the Koroba Lake-Kopiago Open electorate after count75, Philip Undialu (THE Party) is leading with 13,253 votes, followed by PNG Party candidate John Kekeno (PNG Party) with 9015 votes, and Petrus Thomas Nane (PNC) with 3629.

In the Tari Pori Open electorate after count 63, James Marape (PNC) is in the lead with 11,924 votes, followed by George Tagobe (PNG Party) with 6143 votes and Jonny Pokaya Philip (Independent) 5310 votes.

Meantime, tallies are set to change as counting continues today.
