PM Visits Divine Word University To See New Infrastructure

Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, says the heads of higher institutions should work together to ensure Universities and colleges improve their ICT infrastructure.

He said this today in Madang while opening new infrastructure at the Divine Word University.

He arrived this morning at Madang’s Divine word University to see improved infrastructure at the institute.

Amongst the changes, was the launching of the new online learning programs that will be offered by the University.

The launching was witnessed by staff and students from the University including members of the community.

In his speech, the Prime Minister reflected on key outlines of the governments agendas on Health, Education and infrastructure.

Today, he attributed the governments mammoth task of fixing these priority areas to the task of creating employment for graduates.

“The Heads of Higher institutions, Chancellors of our Universities need to go out and create partnerships they can learn a lot from Divine Word,” says O’Neill.

The government stance for education was evident today, O’Neill opened the new Academic Administration building and inspected the new clinic that was donated to the University. Replacing the old clinic.

He then inspected new University houses that were built with funding from the government.

He visited the TB facility and the eye care center at the Modilon hospital.
