Prime Minister Peter O’Neill hosted a dinner last night to acknowledge and thank nine Platinum Sponsors of the APEC CEO Summit 2018.
Together with the APEC Business Advisory Council of PNG (ABAC), appreciation plaques were presented to the sponsors.
Mr O’Neill, in his remarks, thanked the sponsors and said the country is ready to host this important event.
“Hosting APEC indicates the changes in the country. We are slowly moving, and a country like PNG; we cannot sit and expect things to come to us. This summit presents many opportunities for the country,” Mr O’Neill said.
Mr O’Neill further added, that the APEC CEO’s Meeting presents many opportunities for the business community in the country.
“This is a global event, and in order to benefit, we must engage meaningfully in the summit,” PM O’Neill said.
