MORE than 50 counting officials or the Northern Regional Seat during the 2012 elections are still waiting for their payments.
They have petitioned the electoral manager in the province, but to no avail.
The group claimed the provincial electoral commission owed them a total of K20,000 in outstanding payments.
Spokesperson for the group, Carter Sarea, said it is frustrating to wait that long after they have ensured a free and safe elections for the province.
They are calling on the Electoral Commissioner, Andrew Trawen, and Northern Governor Gary Juffa, to intervene in their plight.
The issue of outstanding payments during, and after election time, has been a consistent problem that the PNGEC has had to deal with for the past three elections.
In the past, complaints over the non-payment of outstanding bills following polling periods, have always come from private service providers.
But the problem has now grown to include election officials who play an important role in ensuring elections are run according to accepted standards.
