On this episode:
We place the spotlight on road traffic rules. Over the years Papua New Guinea has witnessed some of the worst road accidents that claimed many lives. A ten year data collection, from 2002 to 2011, released from the National Road Safety Council estimates that between 100 to 300 people die annually from road accidents. Obedience to simple traffic rules will make a big difference and road accidents can be avoided. Ignorance to these rules can only lead to hundreds of innocent lives being lost.
We also highlight what the Motor Traffic Act says about some common traffic rules. Some of these rules are violated everyday by all public road users. To avoid this, awareness is key in educating people about certain traffic rules.
