The netball world cup in Sydney began on Friday.
The two Pacific Island nations who qualified have had a slow start to their world cup campaign still yet to manage a win.
In their opening match, Fiji went down to Wales 52 – 59 and Uganda 61 – 40.
Samoa suffered a defeat against Jamaica 90 – 44 and Scotland 47 – 36.
Competition favorites, Australia and New Zealand, are breezing through the preliminary rounds undefeated and are looking strong to make the finals.
The competition will head into the first round of finals on Tuesday.
In an interesting encounter, Malawi and Sri Lanka faced off for the first time in Netball World Cup history in round two of the NWC2015.
Malawi proved why they are ranked sixth in the world, coming away with a commanding 101-18 victory.
The Malawi Queens notched the highest score of the competition so far, and was the first team to have a three-figure score since New Zealand in 2003.
