Malalaua Rugby League Association from Gulf Province received a cheque of over K6,000 from Dekenai Construction yesterday.
Dekenai Construction limited was happy to support the development of sports in the Malalaua District.
The sponsorship will go towards purchasing of trophies for their grand finala.
After 10 years this was the first of its kind cheque presentation to the Malalaua Rugby League Association since the rugby league competition died out in 2005.
Matthew Fallon, Managing Director of Dekenai Construction, when presenting the cheque said the company was happy to give back to the people since the construction company has been working in the area on a road project.
Dekenai Construction has also engaged 600 youth for work in the area.
