Khalu Steps Down from Role as CEO of PNG Basketball

The Papua New Guinea Basketball fraternity has a big void to fill as Chief Executive Officer, Joel Khalu stepped aside from his role as of today.

The 36-year-old will be leaving the country for Cairns on Friday to be with his father who is fighting Cancer.

Speaking of Khalu’s time with the Basketball Federation of PNG, BFPNG President Nick Daroa, said Khalu made an immense contribution to the sport since joining in March last year.

“We are forever indebted for his work towards this sport,” Daroa told EMTV News.

Khalu was instrumental in bringing the FIBA Melanesian Cup to PNG with the country coming out as Champions in both the Men’s and Women’s competitions.
