Cosby’s Bid Dismissed by Court

Comedian Bill Cosby’s bid to overthrow a defamation lawsuit brought against him and his former lawyer, by supermodel Janice Dickinson, was dismissed in court this week.

Dickinson claims in the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit that Cosby and his former attorney Martin Singer, defamed her in statemen’s made to the media arguing that’she had fabricated her account of being drugged and raped by Cosby in 1982.

The spokeswoman appointed by Cosby’s current lawyer Christopher Tayback, on the defamation lawsuit, had been unreachable for further commen’s.

Dickinson is just one of over 50 women who have accused Cosby, 78, of sexual assault.

In a series of cases, most women claimed he had raped them under the influence of drugs or alcohol he had facilitated himself.

Unlike Dickson’s, most of the alleged assault cases are too old to be cause for criminal prosecution.

In a similar case late last year, Cosby had been charged by Pennsylvania prosecutors related to a 2004 incident, just days before the case was to expire.

He is currently out on bail awaiting trial.
