Book Bilong Pikinini and Theodist Stationary collaborate for World Book Day

Book Bilong Pikinini and Theodist Stationary today hosted a small, but significant event to commemorate the World Book Day. Speaking at the World Book Day event, Book Bilong Pikinini Ambassador, Lynda Babao O’Neill, highlighted the importance of books, saying it is vital for the growth and development of all children.

World Book day is commemorated throughout the world on the 7th of March, while some countries celebrate the day on the 23rd of April. Book Bilong Pikinini in celebrating the World Book Day today, aims at promoting the importance of reading and sharing stories with children.

Today’s event saw children of very young age reading books to each other, and adults reading and sharing stories with children. Speaking at the event today, Book Bilong Pikinini Ambassador, Lynda Babao O’Neill, spoke of the importance of books encouraging children to read more books as it is important for their brain development.

Book Bilong Pikinini library and book shop is a treasure trove of books to take home for adults and children, and has a mission to see an increase in literacy rates in the country. Theodist Stationary has been a major sponsor of the Book Bilong Pikinini to see this mission a reality. They also have a library and book shop in Theodist Stationary with varieties of books for children. In celebrating the world book day today, Theodist has also placed a bin in the stationary for people to donate books.

Apart from celebrating the world book day today, Book Bilong Pikinini also has other plans for children this year. Book Bilong Pikinini Marketing Manager, Elizabeth Omeri, says this year they will also be celebrating the National Book Week and National Literacy Week to promote the importance of books to the children.

Book Bilong Pikinini also thanked Theodist for their generous support every year, and look forward to working together with them to provide valuable learning opportunities for children in the country.
