PNG-owned technology company Yumi AI has donated K1,000 worth of food supplies and K1,000 in cash to iCare4U Ministry to support mothers living with HIV and their children during the current El Niño season.
The 8-month-old start up said the donation is part of its commitment to support frontline ministries in Papua New Guinea. iCare4U works to rebuild strong, stable futures for mothers living with HIV and their children.
The food supplies will go directly toward feeding families supported by iCare4U, while the cash will help sustain the ministry’s volunteer staff who often raise their own support to serve.
“This is about mothers raising their children with strength and determination, and a ministry standing with them every step of the way. The least we can do is make sure the people doing that work have what they need to keep going,” Yumi AI Admin Manager said.
This is not Yumi AI’s first support for iCare4U. Last year the company donated K2,000 for the ministry’s Christmas outreach.
As a proudly PNG-owned company, Yumi AI says giving back is part of its identity from day one.
“We’re not a foreign-owned tech company with no ties to the people here. We have a heart to give back and make a real impact on our own people and our own communities,” the company stated.
Yumi AI confirmed it will continue partnering with iCare4U and is looking to support other organizations working with children and families across PNG.
With El Niño impacting communities nationwide, the company said small and consistent acts of support can make a real difference for families in need.
