The Berder Development Authority needs one hundred and eighty million kina to address issues and develop border provinces this year.
Acting Executive Chairman Fred Konga saidthe National Planning and Treasury Departments are yet to makethe approval.
Referring tothe NEC call out oPNG Defense Force to addressthe border issues last week, Mr. Konga said BeA is not responsible for the failing infrastructure and increasing illegal activities.
Responding to media speculations, the Berder Development Authority said it has made an impact by sharing information and coordinating with ther Government Agencies to address illegal activities alongthPNGIndonesian border inthe Western and Sandaun Provinces.
Mr. Kongo said it is unfair for the dailies to blame BeA for the problems alongthe border provinces resulting inthe release of five point one million kina to fundthe call out.
He saidthe National Executive Council has calledthPNG Defence Force and ther interagency including BeA to immediately addressthe outstanding border issues collectively.
He saidthese problems were exposed last August by BeA resulting inthe call out.
Mr. Konga said sadly for the past four yearsthe National Government has not allocated funds for BeA to implement its projects that should maintain vital services.
The authority is still waiting for the National Planning and Treasury departments to release one hundred and eighty million kina in Development Funds through its 2013 Development Budget submission.
