Team Bougainville will be sending a 20-man Taekwondo team to the 2014 PNG Games in Lae, Morobe province.
Bougainville Taekwondo President, Wenceslaus Soatsin, said although there is no proper equipment and training facilities, he is confident the team will do well at the Games.
EM TV managed to catch up with team Bougainville’s taekwondo team during a training session in Buka yesterday in preparation for the 2014 PNG Games.
The team of twenty, comprising eight women and 12 men, have been training for the past three months and Mr Soatsin is confident the team will do well.
He said they have received financial assistance from the Bougainville Government to travel to Lae, however they are still waiting for proper equipment for training at home.
When asked who were the favourites to win medals at the Games, Soatsin said there were a couple that we would look out for, however no names were given.
