The Melanesian Spearhead Group Trade and Investment road show will encourage businesses in PNG to enhance bilateral trade relationships with other MSG countries.
The event will involve PNG companies and small and medium entrepreneurs to actively participate to maximise their opportunity to expose themselves with other MSG countries.
Minister for Commerce, Trade and Industry Hon. Richard Maru was present at the presentation ceremony at the Air Niugini headquarters in Port Moresby.
PNGs national flag carrier, Air Niugini presented a cheque of K100,000 to the national government.
Minister Maru, on behalf of the government, thanked Air Niugini for supporting this major event. He said this support strengthens Air Niugini and drives support and interest in the MSG region.
He also said Air Niugini is only operating in Solomon Islands and Vanuatu but this event will help towards its plans of expansion to other MSG countries.
Chairman of the Air Niugini board, Sir Frederick Reiher highlighted that Air Niugini’s ambitions to sponsor such event are in line with the government’s public and private partnership policy. Funding this event will enhance and promote the current MSG trade agreement through effective and productive application among MSG countries.
