Parliament undergoing maintenance

Parliament House is currently undergoing maintenance.

Speaker Theo Zurenouc saidthe works are a continuation from last year’s K60 million allocated by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.

Mr Zurenouc saidthere are two variations by contractors costing K250, 000 each to be finalised.

The works include complete refurbishment of parliament house and office space both inside and outside. Contractors have been busy scraping offthe old cement onthe walk-way in preparation for the new cement layer.

Apart from maintenance,there will be a complete corporate restructure of parliamentary staff. Only those qualiflied officers will hold office.
