SHP Spends K1 Million To Improve ICT Services

The Southern Highlands Provincial Government presented a cheque of K1 million, to Digicel PNG, to commence its communication and ICT service programme, for the year.

This comes after a Memorandum of Understanding signed between both parties, as part of Governor William Powi’s move, to enhance communication and ICT services in the province.

An official ceremony was held in Mendi this week, where Governor Powi, in front of the provincial administration, and a large crowd of spectators, presented the cheque to Digicel’s Government Relations Director, Gary Seddon.

“We are grateful to have entered into this innovative project that’s designed to deliver Digicel’s 1st world communications, and ICT services, to the people of Southern Highlands,” Governor Powi said.

Digicel’s Government Relations Director, Gary Seddon, thanked the Governor for his vision, and for the opportunity, to collaborate with his provincial government on the establishment of additional communication services in SHP.

Services include robust and reliable internet broadband solutions to the provincial headquarters, district administrations, health centres, and police posts.
