Students at Lae’s Balob Teachers College, for the first time, accessed Internet on campus.
The Teachers college is the 30th school to receive Telikom’s Clean I.T service across the country. It now can increase teaching and learning capacity.
A Balob student, Jessy Jenuaris says the Internet will aid learning while they are in school.
It will also help them develop Internet research habits and techniques for the future.
“We will go out to the field and be able to prepare quality lessons,” she says.
The Internet will also assist in up-skilling staff when the Balob administration starts registering them for online courses from Oxford University.
The National government funded Telikom clean I.T program gives schools around the country Internet access.
The teachers college is amongst thirty other schools that have clean Internet across the country.
Telikom Foundation CEO, Brian Sam says the clean I.T. program aims to add value to National human resource development.
