Staff of the Department for Community Development are calling on the National Government to quickly address the ongoing tussle between Joseph Klapat and Anna Solomon.
They said this tussle has been going on for nearly 27 months now and wants the Government to step in and solve this as soon as possible.
The staff raised serious questions and asked the government and the Judiciary to come clear on the recent court decision to reinstate Joseph Klapat as secretary for Department for Community Development.
They said this issue has taken them 27 months and wants it to be solved once and for all.
Mr Klapat said while the issue is still pending in the National court for hearing, the NEC went ahead and make a decision to revoke him.
“So the question now is which decision is superior,” Mr Klapat said.
He said the government and the judiciary must clear this as it is affecting their work and relationship with development partners and recipients of services.
“This problem is affecting our development partners, aid agencies and above all the beneficiaries of our services” he said.
The staff also raised their concerns about the issue and how it has affected the operations of the Department.
Deputy Secretary for Community Development Division, Molly Willie, said they are concern about the role of Personnel Management in bringing the two parties together into compromise.
“What is Secretary Kali intention to this impasse? It has affected our moral” Mrs Willie said.
She said they are not supporting Klapat or Solomon.
“All we want is the government must come down and solve this issue and we work together again to implement government’s policies” said Mrs Willie.
Register General, Betty Billy, also claimed that this impasse has jeopardies their functions saying at this time there is two people working as Register General.
“My role as Register General has not been revoked and I am still holding the position” she said.
