Under AFL PNG’s development program, primary schools in the Nation’s Capital, North-East Electorate have been lucky to go through the Niu-kick Program.
Enthusiastic students from the Ela Murray International School were out in the afternoon sun alongside the Niu-Kick development officers as soon as the school bell rang.
AFL has been conducting their Niu-Kick development program for schools in the North-East electorate of the Nation’s Capital.
Like all sporting codes in the country, Niu-kick aims to instill life-long values and respect among school-aged children, apart from promoting the sport of AFL.

In this year’s academic year, 12 schools have registered for the Niukick program. However that number is predicted to grow as a number of schools have shown interest.
Although AFL is a contact sport, participants are taught to play Aus-touch, a similar game to touch-footy. The game teaches children the skills of passing, kicking and catching.
