The new Fraud and Corruption Offences Track will now reduce the amount of time taken by the court system in the country.
Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia says the track will now allow fraud and anti-corruption cases to be given special attention.
Members from the judicial fraternity gathered last Friday, for the launching of the Fraud and Corruption Offences Track, and judiciary complaints procedure.
The establishment of the track aims to address public concern that the Courts of the National Judicial System are not doing enough to improve the expediting on fraud and corruption related cases.
Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia explained that this track will address the public’s concern. He said it now puts in place a structured judicial case management system, which allows for such cases to be given special attention.
The day also marked the launching of the judiciary complaints procedure. This is the first ever put up by the judiciary. This sets an investigative procedure within the judiciary, that makes provision for complaints made against Court staff.
Sir Salamo Injia says this allows judicial independence.
Although not related in any way, these two separate procedures now enable complaints to be investigated in a transparent, fair and effective manner.
