LUFA FOREFATHERS AND PARLIAMENT LEADERS RECEIVE SPECIAL GIFT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

The forefathers and parliament leaders from Lufa District in Eastern Highlands Province received a special gift on Independence Day by Lufa District in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the development of Lufa and the country.

The 50th celebrations in Lufa District, Eastern Highlands province successfully completed with the presentation of the special gift to their families.

The special gift includes a portray of the leaders to their families to be kept for the future generations to see.

Lufa MP Simo Kilepa said this was a sign of commemorating the fore fathers of the country and Lufa for their services in development for the past 50 years.

He said political leadership is not a birth right and the gesture was to promote unity in bringing the Lufa district forward into the next 50 years.

Lufa’s 50 celebrations were colorful just like other celebrations in the country bringing communities together to marked the 50th celebrations, a once in a lifetime for many of them.

Lufa District is a significant coffee-producing region and serves as a key trading center with a population of more than 70,000. The district has an official five-year development plan for 2023-2027, focusing on aligning its development goals with national and international visions, including the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
