Morobe Provincial Education Board (PEB) Chairman, Andrew Gena, has condemned school fights in Lae.
Mr. Gena said school fights should now be treated as a criminal offence.
The PEB Chairman said all efforts and approaches taken by the authorities and the public to address the concern are exhausted.
The fights have continued over the years, leaving many students injured, and several dead.
The ongoing fight between the secondary schools in Lae, especially between Bugandi and Lae Secondary School, is not accepted.
Gena said much has been said and addressed by the Education Department, Schools, Police and even the public, but nothing has changed.
Chief Metropolitan Superintendent for Lae, Anthony Wagamie Jnr, also condemned the school fights in the city.
Wagambie said mass arrests will be given to all students who start the fights.
The matter will be dealt with in court where the students will be penalised.
The Provincial Minister for Education said arrests of students instigating school fights could be a better solution to end school fights in the Province.
The Education Department, Schools, Police, and the Member for Lae, are working closely to end this concern.
