2015 Pacific Games Committee has a mammoth task ahead to hostthe biggest event inthe nation’s history.
This timethe Committee is optimistic it will be bigger and better thanthe 1991 South Pacific Games.
Community Awareness had begun includingthe host venues.
Chief Executive Officer, Peter Stewart told EMTV’s John Eggins inthe current affair program, Tok Piksa recently that 2015 Pacific Games will be delivered on a high note.
Mr. Stewart spoke of using local knowledge, talents and experience to makethe 2015 games as unique to leave a legacy in years to come.
Peter Stewart is not new to organizing events like this. Whilst this will be his first Pacific Games tasked as CEO, his experiences from ther international events such asthe Olympics, Commonwealth Games, multi-sport games &ndashthe Australasian Public Sector Games in 1998 and 2000, andthe 2009 Paralympics Youth Games, put him in good stead for 2015.
Stewart had overseen 1500 events annually and managed some ofthe biggest open space venues in Australia.
More than three thousand volunteers will be needed to deliverthe games on time to all parts ofthe country andthe world.
Currentlythere are less than 200 people working inthe Committee. The Committee has been carrying out community awareness to engage views and involvethe community on howthey will participate inthe games.
There will be live sit’s in Public areas aroundthe country for people to watchthe games.
Today marks 678 days to go asthe countdown continues.
