The Wabag District Development Authority (WDDA) is embarking on completing the Wabag Mini Mart and Coffee Shop which will also include a Library this year.
The double story complex is an extension of the K13 million modern market facility which was completed within three years and opened for the public to use earlier this year.

“The two story building will be completed this year,” Wabag MP, Dr. Lino Tom made this announcement.

The second term MP mentioned that development should be about changing people’s mindset as the number one priority.

“We want to give our people a glimpse of what it is like in more developed centers where you have one stop service centers that are inclusive, accessible, safe and convenient for everyone,” Minister Lino said.

“We want mothers who come to shop or sell staff can do so with their children so their children can have access to a library where learning is encouraged,” he added.

The People’s Party parliamentary leader further added that the Wabag District Development Authority cannot do everything and satisfy everyone but will make sure the essentials are provided for the people from time to time.

Meanwhile, the medical surgeon turned politician highlighted that the K6 Million Wabag Food Depot is approaching completion.

He mentioned that five large coolers to store food for wholesale purposes are on their way from Lae.

The MP stated that the Wabag Food Depot will store food, vegetables and meat products for large commercial sale and export purposes.
