Sixth New Stop N Shop Outlet Opened

City Pharmacy Group of Companies has officially opened its mega mall at Waigani Central in Port Moresby.

The K20 million investment is said to be the Group’s biggest investment in the retail industry.

The new Stop N’ Shop at Waigani Central has a new spacious look and much more to offer as the Media Team discovered during their tour of the mall this morning.

It’s amazing how the City Pharmacy Limited Group or CPL Group has turned 5000 square meters of land into one of the biggest and spacious shopping malls in Port Moresby, offering a variety of merchandise, services and entertainment.

Housed within Stop N’ Shop Waigani, is various departmental sections including the CPL’s Group resident health and beauty store, City Pharmacy. This outlet counts as the sixth number of Stop N Shop Retail Supermarkets in the city.

The Mall itself is built to world-class standard, offering customers a variety of retail goods from fresh produce to household goods through to electrical goods, mobile phones and accessories.

CPL Group Chief Executive Officer Ravi Singh said the Supermarket currently employs 400 people with at least one worker in training per week at the CPL Training Centre in Waigani. He said the Group has a lot of advantages in retail, given the fact that its large supply chain supports its three existing businesses.

He said with the opening of the Shopping Mall, the City Pharmacy Group may in turn make plans to build a proper department store to sell a variety of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and more.

When asked what happens to the old building, Mr Singh announced that by June of this year, a new retail business called “Haus Depot” will be opened, along with a second paradise cinema, all in CPL’s aim in “providing affordable goods and services, and more importantly, employment for locals”.
