ISOAIMO SUPPORTS FISH FARMING PROJECT IN KAIRUKU
The Open Member for Kairuku Peter Isoaimo has backed a fish farming project in Kairuku, to enhance food security and maximize economic growth for the local community.
The K20, 000 given to BOSPO fish farming project at Abiara Oreke in the Kairuku LLG over the weekend demonstrates Kairuku District Development Authority’ s continued support in assisting SME’s and cooperatives in the district.
Founder of the BOSPO fish farming project Simon Beata was commended for his bold commitment in initiating the fish farming project that has impacted locals, especially youths in the area to earn economic sustenance through the fish farming project.
Beata stood out among many fish farmers by showing consistency, presenting a clear way forward, and showcasing sustainability, which inspired the engaged youth to envision how fishing could change their lives.
District Chief Executive Officer Henry Oa commended the initiative by Beata through the fishing project that is impacting livelihoods in the community.
” The launching of the fish farming project shows a way forward for Kairuku to venture into business activities for the economic growth of local communities and the district.
” From this launching, we all now know that the cooperative is promoting food security, income generation and creating economic growth for the local community and the district,” he said.
He thanked the local MP and the Kairuku District Development Authority for being very supportive in assisting small medium entrepreneurs to find their space in sustaining economic growth and improving livelihoods at the community level.
He said such support encourages communities to venture into organized economic generating activities to sustain their livelihoods.
