Huwa Coffee Farmers Cooperative Society (HCFCS) in the Lufa District of Eastern Highlands have been motivated to produce more coffee parchment bags after receiving coffee pulpers from Coffee Industry Corporation.
220 pulpers were distributed among 582 farmers for the cooperative group.
This falls under CIC’s Productive Partnerships in Agriculture Project.
Manager, Potaisa Hombunaka, was pleased to witness the hard work and commitment of the Huwa farmers, which was demonstrated through the parchment bags produced.
The members willingly accepted the arrangement by paying only five percent equity of the total cost.
Each member contributed to purchase the pulpers at a reduced cost of K22 instead of K450.
