The Health Minister revealed today that the government’s plans to build a new hospital in Gerehu to cater for the suburb’s growing population.
He said it would be built to level 5 hospital standards, meaning more specialists and equipment to meet the growing demand from Port Moresby’s population.
Malabag said the prospective 500-bed hospital has already been designed.
Plans are also in place to include a nursing school under the hospital as well as a cancer specialist center.
