Nationwide consultations ends on a high note in Enga

The Constitutional Law and Reform Commission (CLRC) concluded its public consultation on review of the Organic Law on National and Local Level Government elections in the Enga capital on Friday.

The terms of references for public consultation includes, the Electoral Roll system, Polling, Electoral Boundaries, Nomination Fees, Election petitions, and  Voter Identification system among others.

The CLRC will come up with draft legislations including amendments to the existing electoral laws for Parliament to approve for implementation.

Whether or not the changes will be implemented in the next election depends on how fast the CLRC’s work is effected by MP’s in Parliament.

The nationwide consultative meeting is headed by Henganofi MP Robert Atiyafa as chairman, with five commissioners and a group of technical officers.
