NAC To Conduct Emergency Exercise Tomorrow

A major full-scale emergency exercise will be carried out by the National Airports Corporation (NAC) tomorrow.

The exercise will be facilitated at the Jacksons International Airport, starting from 7am to 3pm.

Acting Managing Director, Richard Yopo in a statement said that this exercise will involve a mock incident through role plays.

Emergency and stakeholders who are part of the Airport Emergency Plan, will execute their respective emergency procedures.

This is to test the Airport Emergency Plan and Emergency Plan/Procedures, a requirement under the National Airports Corporation PMIA Aerodrome Exposition. And also in compliance to the PNG Civil Aviation Rule Part 139 and ICAO Annex 14.

Managing aerodrome or airports is NAC’s mandated safety responsibility. The public is advised not to consider this as a real event or incident during the course of the drill.
