Home province of PNG’s sprint-star, Jiwaka, will be out to display their best at the 6th BSP PNG Games. Younger sibling of Toea, Kupun Wisil, is the flag bearer for Team Jiwaka at the opening ceremony.

Jiwaka’s contingent to the games comprises of 408 athletes & officials, taking part in a total of 16 sporting codes.

With gold medallist, Annette Waime and Roselyn Okun keen to defend their gold titles in Boxing & Kickboxing respectively.

Team Jiwaka received funding support of K700000 for the PNG Games in Lae.

The team from one of the country’s newest provinces is looking to impress and have expressed their confidence in their athletes.

The Wisil siblings are also aiming to carry on the family pride and make big sister Toea proud of their athleticism. The Wisil’s have had a tough year, having lost their most recently. The PNG sports icon described their late father as a role model and mentor, who always encouraged them, to excel in life.

In an interview with EM TV Sport awhile back, Toea said she would be on hand to cheer on her province and siblings.
