PNG HEKARI WELCOMES NEW OFC PRO-LEAGUE COACH

PNG Hekari has brought in a United State based Iran coach to lead the side in their second appearance of the Oceania Professional League.

Coach Bardiee Mehrdad arrived in Port Moresby Jackson’s International Airport today and was greeted by the club management and plyers.

After a dramatic fall out of the inaugural coach Marcos Gusmao and the promotion of Jerry Allan, Mehrdad now takes the lead role.

Mehrdad said he will be here for as long as the club wants him.

“I am very happy for the opportunity and looking forward to winning some good games for PNG. Hekari has some of the best groups of athletes I have seen. I believe we have all the ingredients to develop into one of the top teams in Oceania,” Mehrdad said.

Club owner Vonny Kapi Natto said at this point they are not going to reveal the contracts of the new coach. However, she welcomes Mehrdad to the country.

Coach Mehrdad was an academy coach back in the United State and this would be his first stint in Oceania region.
