All Abilities Cricket Program Launched

Cricket PNG launched the 2017 All-abilities component of the “Kriket Blo Olgeta” (KBO) Program recently.

It is made possible through the Pacific Sports Partnership Program by the Australian Government.

The program was initially introduced in 2014, with the aim of making the sport inclusive for all, regardless of abilities.

In 2016 alone, CPNG conducted the All Abilities Cricket Program in four regions in NCD, Madang, Western Highlands and Eastern Highlands with over 200 participants.

This year, the aim of the All Abilities Program is to introduce hard ball cricket competitions for the clients, develop blind cricket, and have the program conducted in ten provinces.

And they are National Capital District (NCD), Central, Eastern Highlands, Western Highlands, Madang, Miline Bay, West New Britain, Oro, Morobe and Jiwaka.

The program is targeted at Persons with disabilities, and aims to boost confidence, self-esteem, and build leadership traits.
