Binatangs Bring South Pacific Cup Home

The Under 16 Coca Cola Binatangs were greeted and welcomed home by family and friends at the Jacksons International Airport upon arrival today.

The team, consisting of three debutants, all performed to exceptional heights and were able to bring the South Pacific Cup home for the second time.

After a week of fighting to retain their title in Coffs Harbour in New South Wales, the Coca Cola under 16 Binatangs brought back home one of their most prized possessions, the South Pacific Cup for the second time around.

The Binatangs scored themselves a win as they played against the New Zealanders in their opening match. Starting off with a nail-biting win, the teenagers were hungry and very determined to win and do remarkably well for the remainder of the tournament.

Fortunately, the team punted a well-deserved win against Oceania, and despite the struggle, the desired outcome was achieved by the young boys.

Team manager Willie Yogomin, who spoke on behalf of the team, was both pleased and impressed with the team’s overall outcome.

Yogomin, who enters his second year with Binatangs as manager, said this was both an emotional and exciting experience for the team as they were welcomed home by their entourage of fans, family, and friends.

An outstanding and commemorative performance by Captain Katah Siwee added an exceptional three hangers to his collection for the week.

As well as contributing enormously to the team’s overall success, Siwee, who debuted as captain for the very first time this year, was pleased with the effort and cooperation of the team.
