FORMER STUDENTS RETURN TO SUPPORT TIKI MEMORIAL SCHOOL

A group of former students of Tiki Memorial Lutheran Primary School, a Level 8 institution in Mt. Hagen Central District, Western Highlands Province, has returned to their former school to show support through the donation of learning and office materials.

The delegation, made up of alumni from different graduating years including those in formal employment and others still studying at tertiary level – visited yesterday both Tiki Memorial Lutheran Primary School and Tiki Memorial Early Childhood School.

The former students donated classroom supplies including chalk, blackboard dusters, and two wall clocks for administrative use

Speaking on behalf of the group, team leader and final-year Journalism student at Divine Word University, Ken Jacob, said the initiative was a way of acknowledging the school’s role in shaping their lives.

“We wanted to come back and give something to the place where it all started for us,” Jacob said.

He said the donation was a collective effort by former students living in different parts of the country.

“This contribution was made possible through the support of former students who are working and studying in various places,” he said.

Teacher-in-Charge of Tiki Memorial Early Childhood School, Simon Ulg, welcomed the gesture, saying it reflected a strong bond between the school and its former students

“It is encouraging to see our former students return and support the school. This shows they still value their foundation here,” Mr Ulg said.

He said the materials would assist teachers in their daily work and help improve learning activities.

Headmaster of Tiki Memorial Lutheran Primary School, Benjamin Dai, also expressed appreciation for the donation.
