EDUCATION MINISTER DIRECTS AGENCY HEADS TO SUBMIT OUTSTANDING ANNUAL REPORTS AND CABINET SUBMISSIONS BY JULY 31.
The Minister for Education Francis Kikin Siune, has issued a strict directive to the heads of agencies in the Ministry to submit their outstanding annual reports and corresponding parliamentary documentation before the close of business on Friday, July 31, 2026.
The directive applies to the Secretary for Education, Dr. Uke Kombra, PhD, the Acting Chairman of the Teaching Service Commission (TSC), Mr. Maini Ugaia and the Director General for the Office of Library and Archives (OLA), Mr. Dennis Bagelo.
They are required to immediately compile and submit their annual reports for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.
In addition to the annual reports, the directive mandates the submission of: All corresponding National Executive Council (NEC) submissions. Official copies of documents previously submitted to the Cabinet. Copies of Ministerial Statements to Parliament that have been submitted to the NEC for presentation to the Parliament.
Minister Siune emphasized that this directive directly aligns with his opening remarks upon taking office, where he advocated the core pillars of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
The move is also consistent with broader policy statements and explicit directives from the NEC and the Prime Minister to ensure strict compliance across all government bodies.
“Accountability and good governance are not optional; they are the heart of public trust,” Minister Siune stated. “To ensure the education sector is operating with total transparency, all agency heads must bring their reporting up to date. We owe this to our schools, our teachers, and our people.”
He said all affected agency heads are expected to comply fully with this administrative instruction by the deadline.
