The race in the Dei by election closes margin as the elimination continues with just 284 votes separating candidate Tui Ekil and Sam Koim in the top two.
The son of late Dei MP Jeremiah Pim was eliminated yesterday after collecting a total of 7,675 votes. Followed by the exclusion of the former Member of parliament Wesley Nukundi after collecting a total of 10,671 votes.
The current top four candidates are as follows, with Tui Ekil maintaining the lead with 18,774 votes as of the 20th elimination.
It was noted that Sam Koim collected more than 4,000 votes from Pim’s box. This has pushed Koim from fourth place to second place with a total of 18,490 votes. Desmond Kipa now sits in third place with 17,234 votes, followed by James Memba Weiya on the fourth spot with 15,126 votes.
The 21st exclusion is underway at the Kimininga Counting center where James Pini is out of the race after collecting 14,355 votes.
