PNG JOURNALISTS FIND THEIR MOJO

Capturing stories from around the country has been made easier through the delivery of Mobile Journalism (MoJo) kits to church media organizations, civil society, academia and mainstream media outlets.

According to Australian High Commission this marks the fourth round of MoJo kit distribution under the Media Development Initiative (MDI), a long-standing media partnership between Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Now in its 20th year, MDI aims to build capacity, enhance skills, and improve access to technology, including for church and community-based media outlets.

Each MoJo kit includes a smartphone, tripod, professional-grade microphones, and essential accessories, enabling journalists to film, edit, and share stories on the go. MoJo kits empower journalists and story tellers to deliver timely, high-quality content to inform and engage communities across the country.

MDI continues to support media outlets in producing stories that amplify local voices and highlight issues from villages and provinces across the country.

In today’s fast-paced digital media landscape, where misinformation can spread quickly, equipping the fourth estate with the right tools is essential to ensure accurate, credible, and timely journalism.
