CHINA TO ASSIST PNG’S TRANSPORT SECTOR

The Chinese Ambassador to Papua New Guinea His Excellency Yang Xiaoguang met with Wapenamanda MP and Transport Minister Miki Kaeok in Port Moresby recently, to pave strategic ways to improve the country’s vast transport sector.
Ambassador Xiaoguang said that China-PNG relations have maintained a positive momentum of development where Chinese enterprises have actively participated in PNG’s infrastructure construction, including roads, bridges, and airports, making significant contributions to PNG’s economic and social development.
His Excellency Xiaoguang maintained that China will continue to adhere to the principle of “four fully respects” in developing relations with PNG, and deepen cooperation with department of transport to further promote the China-PNG comprehensive strategic partnership.
Transport Minister Miki Kaeok thanked China’s long-term support for PNG’s economic and social development.
Minister Kaeok mentioned that department of transport will cooperate with China in the planning and construction of highways, railways, ports, airports, and other infrastructures to achieve more practical and tangible outcomes.
