GoPNG EXPECTATIONS OF FAO 37TH APRC

The government expects all donors including Food and Agriculture Organization in the agriculture sector to contribute strongly to achieve the Governments Medium Term Plan 4 targets in Agriculture
Commercialization and Livestock Development.

This is the expectation of the PNG Government of FAO 37 th Session of APRC Asia Pacific Regional Conference Asia Pacific Regional Conference  revealed by the Secretary for Department of Agriculture and Livestock, Dr. Sergie Bang in the Keynote address at FAO 37 th Asia Pacific Regional Conference, PNG Country Consultation at Stanley Hotel in Port Moresby recently .

Secretary Bang said, Department of Agriculture and Livestock has developed a National Agricultural Sector Plan 2024-2033 to respond to government’s medium term plan 4 in the agriculture sector.

“The focus of government have moved from extractive industries towards the renewable sector, particularly agriculture .To develop agriculture in the next 10 years so it becomes the cornerstone of sustainable socioeconomic development in Papua New Guinea.”
