Three days after the Supreme Court recommended his dismissal from public office, Vanimo Green MP, Belden Namah, has responded.
Mr. Namah has accepted the decision, but says he will file a judicial review. He says his actions in 2012 were not that of his alone, but a collective decision.
He says the Tribunal had not given him enough time to review the technical aspects surrounding his actions when he demanded the arrest of the Chief Justice, Sir Salamo Injia in 2012. The three-man bench handed down a 39-page judgment of the allegations against the Vanimo Green MP earlier this week.
According to Namah, a collective decision was made during the 2012 political impasse. He maintains that he had not acted alone. On Monday this week, the Court recommended Mr. Namah’s dismissal from public office. But Namah says, he has plans to urge authorities like the Ombudsman Commission to look into the matter. He says he has enough evidence to fight the case.
