Westpac PNG has partnered with 2025 Westpac Outstanding Women Awards winner Anne-Shirley Korave and her organisation Queenpads to donate 80 reusable menstrual hygiene packs to Haus Ruth in Port Moresby.
The packs were handed over yesterday during a community support session at the safe house, which provides meals, accommodation and support for survivors of gender-based violence and their children.
The session also included a menstrual health education talk led by Ms Korave and a free financial literacy training delivered by Westpac PNG staff.
Haus Ruth is run by City Mission PNG. Organisers said access to menstrual products is a basic need that affects dignity, confidence and wellbeing for women and girls in crisis.
Westpac PNG Chief Executive Andrew Cairns said the donation extends the purpose of the WOW Awards beyond recognition.
“The WOW Awards are about backing women who are already making a difference,” Mr Cairns said. “This initiative brings together practical support, education and financial literacy in a way that recognises the dignity of women and girls.”
Ms Korave said the partnership helps meet a real need.
“When women and girls have access to the products and support, they need, it helps protect dignity and build confidence,” she said.
Westpac said it will continue to work with women-led organisations like Queenpads through the WOW Awards to deliver practical community support across PNG.
