Youth Olympic Games

The Papua New Guinea Football Association is throwing its support behind the girls under 15 squad to represent PNG, at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, scheduled for August.

The team was in camp last week at the PNG football association academy with preparations under way for the Youth Olympic Games.

With the assistance of Nicola Dermain from the Oceania Football Confederation on board, the girls have a greater chance at giving their best shot at the tournament.

Dermain, a former English football representative, and now the OFC Women’s Development Officer, has helped the team excel in recent weeks.

Given the potential and talent that lies within such an extravagant group of young women, Nicola’s focus is on equipping the girls with the opportunity of self-development.

With the expertise and guidance of Margaret Aka as head coach, and Mae Koime as Fitness trainer, PNG is set to have a formidable team to travel to Nanjing, China.

The girls have made quite an achievement to qualify to for such a prestigious event. Both Nicola and the coaching staff are confident in bringing back good results.
