It’s on again: the annual Port Moresby Yellow Fin Tuna Competition is set for November and will see anglers from around the nation converging at the Port Moresby Game Fishing Club.
President Russell Kerton made this known at the two-day Esco Hitachi Brian Bell Port Moresby Game fishing competition over the weekend.
The line out began as early as 5am in the morning, with 14 boats and 45 anglers competing in the Esco Hitachi Brian Bell Port Moresby Game Fishing Competition.
The biggest catch of the day, a Sailfish weighing 30 kilograms, was tagged and released back into the sea.
The two-day competition recorded a formidable 16 kilograms giant Trevally caught yesterday.
The competition now sets the pace for the upcoming annual Yellow Fin Tuna Competition, slotted for November 22nd to the 23rd.
It will be one of the biggest competitions under the banner of Trukai Industry and PNG Motors.
The day was well spent at the Yacht Club, with catches that will certainly notch up titles for the Port Moresby Game Fishing Competition.
