Tura Visits Gerehu Secondary

The 2015 Pacific Games Official mascot, Tura, the Kokomo, continued its games awareness.

Tura visited Gerehu Secondary School yesterday and was the center of attention for excited students, who took the opportunity to take a photo with the mascot.

The 2015 Pacific Games Organizing Committee aims to drive the games message through to all the people in the country.

The Committee started off the Community Awareness and now with the inclusion of the Official mascot, Tura, the Kokomo, the committee will not stop until PNG captures regional attention in 2015.

Yesterday, Tura made an appearance at the Gerehu Seconday school. Known as a cheeky bird, yet displayed friendliness and hoping to make more friends with other 22 Pacific islands nations during the games.

GOC Marketing Manager, Ken Siminji, took the time to ask students about what they know about the Pacific Games. Teachers, students were delighted, clearly showing the appreciation and commitment to spread the message and bring forth the game.

Meanwhile, with 40 percent of work done so far with the games venues, Pacific Games through the Venues, Infrastructure and Equipment Committee has pledged to work side by side with the Contracting Companies to get the venues ready on time.
